All figures on this screen are scaled the same horizontally to aid comparison of wildlife and inventory data. To interpret the box and whisker figures of inventory data see the DecAID Tutorial. Below, the “Underlying Wildlife Data” button will display values in cm and in, sample size, and the number of studies for each data point. The “Underlying Inventory Data” button will display the summary statistics from forest inventory data, for all vegetation conditions. In the button bar above, the “Inventory distribution” button will display histograms of the distribution of snag density classes from forest inventory data for this vegetation condition. For use of other buttons, see the DecAID Tutorial.

Some figures include data from all subregions within the wildlife habitat type. Also, for some graphs the data for Small/Medium Trees and Larger Trees structural condition classes are identical if data were collected in both structural condition classes; these figures and the underlying data tables are labeled with "S/L".

In WLCH wildlife habitat type - data from Spies et al. (1988) do not include minimum and maximum values as these values were not reported in the publication.

NOTE: Most of the data points for the cumulative species curves are stand average values from the same study on the

Umpqua National Forest (Maguire unpublished data).

[Graph]: Graph of cumulative species curves for percent cover of down wod (>= 10 cm diameter) in areas used for foraging or at occupied sites for 30%, 50%, and 80% tolerance levels in the Westside Lowland Conifer-Hardwood Forest Wildlife Habitat Type and Larger Trees Structural Condition Class.
[Graph]: Box and whisker graph displaying 30%, 50%, and 80% tolerance levels, and range of percent cover of down wood (>= 12.5 cm diameter) on unharvested inventory plots (n=22) that contained measurable down wood and all unharvested inventory plots (n=22) in the Westside Lowland Conifer-Hardwood Forest, Washington Coast, Larger Trees Vegetation Condition.
