Description: Multidecadal Dry Exposure and Forest Disturbances - Areas With Bark Beetle Mortality (2000-2022). This dataset illustrates how chronic precipitation deficits increase vegetation's flammability and susceptibility of trees to mortality by bark beetles. The dataset covers the years 2000-2022 and 2017-2022. It was derived from this data source - cumulative areas with bark beetle mortality mapped by Forest Health Protection and Partners - https://www.fs.usda.gov/foresthealth/applied-sciences/mapping-reporting/detection-surveys.shtml . This dataset is only for Alaska and is based on data from 2000-2021.Map and Data Disclaimer: The USDA Forest Service makes no warranty, expressed or implied, including the warranties of Merchant ability and fitness for a particular purpose, and assumes no legal liability or responsibility for the accuracy, reliability, completeness, or utility of these geospatial data, or for the improper or incorrect use of these geospatial data.
