Description: The proposed action integrates management direction including vegetation and wildlife direction established after the original forest plan was published in 1988. The proposed action incorporates scientific research and findings that have substantially altered our base of knowledge about ecosystems and wildlife found within the Colville National Forest area since publication of the 1988 plan. In particular, the proposed action incorporates new science related to the recovery of terrestrial and aquatic threatened and endangered species. It also applies landscape ecology concepts to provide for ecological resilience to disturbances, including the effects of climate change.
