This is the sum of standing dead, ladders, and the dead and down, documented above. This metric quantifies the total amount of biomass available to contribute to the extreme fire intensity and spread rates that lead to high severity fire (Stephens et al., 2022).----------------This raster has been modified from the base 30m version in the following ways:-------- - It has been aggregated from a 30m to a 300m scale by averaging across the 30m values-------- - The normalized values are rescaled based on nearly the full range of actual values, with the most extreme values truncated at the 1st and 99th percentile to reduce the influence of outliers on the expressed range of normalized values, with -1 representing high values and 1 representing low values. This interpretation reflects concerns about high fuel levels posing a fire risk, with lower fuel levels considered more favorable.----------------- Unit Of Measure: Short tons/acre |
