Name: Abundance of Vegetation Hazard Class

Display Field: Value

Type: Raster Layer

Geometry Type: null

Description: This layer identifies the areas wheresubstantial mortalitycan be expectedif severewildfire or insect and disease outbreaksoccur. The layer is created from Forest Health Protection (FHP) Insect Hazard ratings applied to R1 VMap, FHP National Insect Severity Risk Map, and root disease severity layer.Although this is the Vegetation Resistance FAI, since this layer is showing where one can expect substantial mortality, the FAI layer is called Vegetation Hazard so it is interpreted correctly. The Focal Sum Rescale Raster 0-100 tool was used to sum all hazard/disease values within a 1-mile focal window. Then the tool rescaled the data from 0 to 100.*Update - This layer was created by merging together the Vegetation Hazard layers from each Pod (Northern Idaho, Western Montana, and East) to create one Regional Vegetation Hazard Layer.
