Service Description: This layer identifies areas at risk of fire to communities and infrastructure. Several data layers are used to define these areas. First, Fire Risk Extent is created to identify the areas that are near communities and valuable infrastructure. The Fire Risk Extent is defined by the following layers: WUI, NoRRA Fire Risk Infrastructure, Municipal Watersheds, and corporate timber lands. Wildland fire hazard potential and population density provides the values within the fire risk extent. The Wildfire Hazard Potential and Where People Live Population Density layers are integrated using map algebra sum function. The data from 0 to 100 to create the final Fire Risk FAI.*Update - This layer was created by merging together the Fire Risk layers from each Pod (Northern Idaho, Western Montana, and East) to create one Regional Fire Risk Layer.
