Service Description: LANDFIRE Percent Low Severity (PLS) dataset was combined with Monitoring Trends and Burn Severity (MTBS) (1984-2021) and composite burn index (CBI, for 2022 only) to identify areas that have experienced unnaturally severe wildfires in the recent past (1984-2022). The CBI data serves as a bridge until MTBS data are available.

Description: The percent area of a landscape analysis unit where the LANDFIRE Percent Low Severity (PLS) dataset predicted low severity fires and Monitoring Trends and Burn Severity (MTBS) mapped either moderate or high severity fires occurring 1984-2017.
