Species Code: NFSQ Species Name: Northern flying squirrel
Decay Class:   Stand Age Or Structure: Young and mature
Geographic Area: eastern Washington Cascades Comments: Recommends 13-21% cover of down wood in young and mature mixed conifer stands; retain dead wood in 0.2 to 0.5 ha (0.5-1.25 acre) patches. Stands with >55% canopy cover provided best habitat. Ponderosa pine forest appears to be poorer habitat than mixed conifer.
