The purpose of this project was to develop an advance Lean Production and Certification program to transfer various continuous improvement methods, techniques, and subsystems to wood products industry personnel.
Project objectives are:
1. Development of an 8-hour seminar to be used as a technical knowledge transfer vehicle.
2. An evaluation of success or failure of follow-up workshops.
3. Development of a certification process whereby personnel pass various requirements of LP implementation.

A well designed delivery of workshop materials was developed and is available to help train leaders in the industry how to apply advanced lean production techniques to improve the sustainability and competitiveness of hardwood processing operations.
