The project will increase information to the general public about forestry in West Virginia and showcase the renewable hardwood forests of the Appalachian region via the State’s television markets, thereby, introducing a broader audience to the benefits of the forest resource and its positive contribution to the State’s economy.
The goals for the project are: 1. To expand and accelerate public awareness, pave the way for new private investment, and create new jobs. 2. To retain the economic competitiveness of the state's primary and secondary hardwood industries. 3. To complement the West Virginia Forestry Association's ongoing pubic education campaign. 4. To build public understanding of the contribution that forestry provides to West Virginia's economy. 5. To generate a sense of pride in the forest resource and businesses it sustains. 6. To shape a vision of a future made brighter through greater investments in forestry.
