 "description": "EDW_FireOccurrenceCurrentEdition_01 provides the current edition of Karen C. Short\u2019s Spatial wildfire occurrence data for the United States (FPA FOD). The service currently contains the Seventh Edition (FPA_FOD_20260615), which includes approximately 2.66 million georeferenced wildfire records from federal, state, and local reporting systems for the period 1992\u20132024. The source records were standardized where possible to National Wildfire Coordinating Group data standards, screened for basic errors, and deduplicated to the extent possible. Layer 0 provides the complete feature class, while the layers organized by year provide filtered views of the same source data. This service provides a stable REST endpoint for the current edition of the publication. When a newer edition is released, the service\u2019s data and metadata may be updated while its REST endpoint and established layer IDs remain unchanged.
